Voice as a Prayer - Medicine Singing Circle with Aya Hummi ✨

This Sunday we will explore the voice as a living prayer — a pathway into the body, into emotion, and into the unseen.

Through opening the voice, softening the body, and allowing expression to move freely, we create space to connect with something larger than ourselves.

We start in a circle together by landing into the body, releasing the week and listening deeply to what calls our attention. Through simple movement we allow the body to restore its natural intelligence, preparing us for chanting.

We then open the voice and connect to generation-old mantras from the Amazonian forest. These sacred songs carry a clear, time-tested structure — a vessel that holds us. Within this structure, we are invited to open, unravel, and express what wants to move through us.

This is where the work begins and he magic starts to unfold. We all create a ceremonial space and everyone is a participant. We gather to weave our voices together and create as a group. This is not a concert, so we invite everyone to sing.

Aya Hummi has walked the path of sacred song and jungle medicine for many years. Through her connection with the Yawanawá tribe, she has learned to hold space for song as a form of prayer — a way to remember who we are beneath the noise.

Her voice carries both depth and playfulness, inviting others to open and remember their own inner melody, into a space beyond thought, where sound becomes connection and healing begins. The name "Aya" means "soul" or "spirit" in Quechua, while "Hummi" symbolizes the hummingbird - a sacred messenger of love, healing, lightness, and perseverance. Her voice is often associated with this gentle yet powerful spirit.
