Half-Day Pilates Workshop | Sunday, March 15 | Berlin Mitte

Have you always wanted to learn Pilates step by step? Do you feel overwhelmed by the huge variety of Pilates styles and classes offered in Berlin? Are you wondering what classical mat Pilates actually is?

Then this special Sunday workshop with Miriam is for you.

Join me for an inspiring half-day deep dive into the original Pilates method. After a warm welcome, we will explore the six foundational principles of the Contrology work developed by Joseph Pilates — concentration, control, center, flow, precision, and breath.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll gradually learn and practice parts of 34 original Pilates mat exercises, with clear guidance, step-by-step progressions, and plenty of space to understand how each movement works in your body. Whether you are completely new to Pilates or want to deepen your understanding of the classical method, this workshop offers a structured and supportive environment to build confidence and awareness.

Expect mindful movement, focused learning, and a refreshing Sunday experience for both body and mind.

What to expect on workshop day

11:30 – 12:00 | Welcome Tea & Introduction
Introduction round, workshop overview, and a short talk about the origins of the method developed by Joseph Pilates. Setting our intentions for the practice.

12:00 – 12:30 | Foundations: The 6 Principles of Contrology
Breath, concentration, control, center, precision, and flow explained and experienced through simple preparatory movements. Body awareness and alignment basics.

12:30 – 13:00 | Beginner Mat Sequence: Building the Base
Introduction to the first exercises of the classical order. Focus on core activation, spinal articulation, and coordination.

13:00 – 13:45 | Expanding the Practice: Strength & Mobility
Progressing through additional exercises from the original 34. Emphasis on stability, mobility, and movement efficiency.

13:45 – 14:15 | Break
Rest, drink tea, eat snacks, and if you want - ask questions.

14:15 – 15:00 | Classical Mat Practice: The Full System Approach
Continuing through more classic mat Pilates exercises with options for different levels.

15:00 – 15:45 | Refinement & Personal Practice
Technique refinement, room for individual questions about specific excercises, feedback, and exploring modifications or progressions. Learning tools, especially Powerhourse activation, to practice independently.

15:45 – 16:00 | Cool Down & Closing
Gentle stretches, relaxation, breathwork, and nervous system regulation. Reflection, final questions, ending our day together.

About Miriam

Hi, I’m Miriam — a certified Pilates teacher based in Berlin, passionate about helping people feel stronger and more at home in their bodies.

My teaching style is rooted in the original method developed by Joseph Pilates, combined with a modern, holistic understanding of movement, health, and sustainable training. What I belive makes my approach unique, is the balance between precision and joy: I care deeply about the right technique and moving with intent, while also creating an encouraging, warm atmosphere where you can explore and enjoy the process.

I believe fitness and looking after your well-being is not something you should try “forcing” into your schedule, but rather see it as a meaningful investment in yourself. My goal is for you to leave a session not only feeling physically stronger, but more confident, calm, and connected to your body.

Whether you are new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, I am excited to guide you through a fun, focused, and inspiring class.
