Andres Roots

Der international gefeierte estnische Slide-Gitarrist Andres Roots, der 2026 sein 30-jähriges Bühnenjubiläum feiert, „klingt wie ein Trio“ (Blues-Finland.com), liefert „eine Meisterklasse in fließendem akustischem Blues und Roots-Musik“ (RnR Magazine) und „gibt dem Blues ein radikal neues Gesicht“ (Songlines).

Er hat schon überall gespielt, vom Bluesclub Ground Zero von Morgan Freeman in Clarksdale, Mississippi, bis hin zum legendären Henry's Blueshouse von Jim Simpson, dem ersten Manager von Black Sabbath, in Birmingham, England. Er trat schon vor den unterschiedlichsten Menschen auf, von Häftlingen im berüchtigten finnischen Gefängnis Mikkeli bis hin zu angesehenen deutschen Parlamentsmitgliedern im Bundestag in Berlin.

Die Musik von Roots wurde auf fünf Kontinenten im Radio gespielt, erreichte in Estland die Spitze der Charts und wurde mit dem goldenen Zeitalter des Mississippi-Delta-Blues, Leo Kottke und Davy Graham verglichen.

Celebrating his 30th anniversary as a performing artist in 2026, the internationally acclaimed Estonian slide guitarist Andres Roots "sounds like a trio" (Blues-Finland.com) whilst offering "a masterclass in fluid acoustic blues and roots music" (RnR Magazine) and "a hardcore reshaping of the blues" (Songlines).

He has played everywhere from Morgan Freeman's Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the original Black Sabbath manager Jim Simpson's Henry's Blueshouse in Birmingham, England and performed for everybody from the inmates at Finland's notorious Mikkeli prison to the esteemed members of the German parliament at the Bundestag in Berlin.

Roots' music has enjoyed airplay on five continents, topped the charts in Estonia and earned comparisons with the heyday of Mississippi Delta Blues, Leo Kottke, and Davy Graham.
