Meet the Bronte House Detectives

Join us in person for a special event with Sharon Wright and Ann Dinsdale, the amazing Bronte House Detectives! Dive into fascinating stories, secrets, and all the mystery surrounding the building that made the Brontes who they were. It's a perfect chance to chat, ask questions, and get up close with history like never before. Don’t miss out on this unique experience - and buy their amazing book Let Me in The BRONTËS in Bricks and Mortar!

Sharon Wright and Ann Dinsdale are both experts on the Brontës. And what could be more appropriate in a year when one of the big talking points on television has been the release of a new feature film of Wuthering Heights reimagined!

Sharon and Ann explore the historic buildings where this extraordinary literary family’s stories unfolded. Where they wrote their stories, how so many buildings played their significant parts in the lives of Charlotte, Anne and Emily, their brother Bramwell and their parents.

We are honoured to have Sharon and Ann with us at Aberford Literature Festival and to provide us with a very real ‘hour of magic’ in their role as The Brontë House Detectives a title coined by their impressive and illuminating new book Let Me In: The BRONTËS in Bricks and Mortar.

Ann Dinsdale is the distinguished Principal Curator of the Brontë Parsonage where she has worked for 35 years.

Sharon Wright is an award-winning journalist and biographer. Sharon’s The Mother of the Brontës about Maria Brontë was an Amazon sensation. Sharon is also editor of the Brontë Society Gazette.

Houses in the Brontës’ books are particularly important and renowned, from Thornfield Hall in Jane Eyre to the eponymous home of the Earnshaw family in Wuthering Heights. With so many legends and myths circulating it is excellent to have answers on many topics.

If you like the Brontës this is an absolute must – The Brontë House Detectives are ready to take you on a journey of discovery!
