John Godber @ Aberford Literature Festival

Aberford Literature Festival is the UK's fastest growing community-based literature event to b eheld 19-21 June 2026.

John Godber will be kicking off the Festival in style with talk of his amazing, illustrious career that sees him as one of the UK's most performed playwrights - his massive porfolio includes : Up 'n' Under (which became a highly successful film comedy starring Neil Morrissey and Samantha Janus (now Womack); Teechers (currently on tour with updated 2026 version); Bouncers; April in Paris; Happy Families; Perfect Pitch - and recent hit stage shows : Do I Love You and Black Tie Ball.

John was artistic director at the world famous Hull Truck Theatre Co for 26 years and he has been artistic director at Theatre Royal Wakefield since 2011.

John will be talking about writing drama for stage and screen.
