Beginner Contemporary Dance (8 week course)

The Curious Mover dance courses return for 2026!

Contemporary dance is a fantastic way to find balance between strength and fluidity and challenge the way in which we navigate through space. It creates an awareness of our emotional connection to movement, is a fantasic physical work out, and much much more.

During the first 2 weeks - Get an introduction to exercises focusing on floor work, use of space, spinal flow, body alignment, control and release. This first part of the course gives you the time needed to gain an awareness of dance technique and prepare the brain and body for more complex choreography.

During the last 6 weeks - Continue practicing your "warm up" exercises, while also learning a short choreographed routine. This part of the course gives you an opportunity to express yourself, respond to music and explore your creativity.

• Practice videos that break down the choreographed routine.
• A final class video

Curious Mover courses are open to all adults 18+ , whether you have some experience or have never stepped foot in a studio before. The class content is aimed at a beginner level with the opportunity to continue your practice in future courses.
