About This Event

Walking tour with Arran Henderson “Architecture and history along the Grand Canal” (Part 2)

Wilton Park/ Herbert Place (D2) to Hanover Quay and the Capital Dock buildings.

from leafy late Georgian terraces and historic infrastructure, and Grand corporate visions of the new 21st Century (part-two)

Starting at Wilton Park, and finishing at the Grand canal basin, at Hanover Quay and the huge new Capital Dock buildings.

Along the way we shall explore the huge infrastructure projects of the 18th and 19th century that changed the face of Dublin, and touch on literature, revolution and social history.

Additionally, and inevitably, we shall also look at some very fine buildings too.

Meet Time: meet by 11AM latest please.

Meet Point: We meet at the fountain in Wilton Park, beside the Grand Canal in Dublin 2.

Wilton Park is situated between the new LinkedIn office buildings on Wilton Place, and the footpath along the Grand Canal. There is an old cast iron fountain in the centre of the park. Please meet your guide Arran, by this fountain, by 11AM.

Please allow adequate travel time to arrive on time.

End Point: We will finish our walk by Hanover Quay and the new Capital Dock buildings beside the Grand Canal Basin.
