Don't miss the pettiest poetry event of the year! Valentine's Day presents an opportunity each year for our poets to get down right petty. Attend this event and witness the embarrassing, the cringe worthy, the Texas-sized tea that comes with failed past relationships. All poets must present "petty" poetry for this event. A poetry slam is a fun, electric and competitive poetry showcase in which poets perform their work and are judged by random members of the audience. Typically, the host or another organizer selects the judges, who are instructed to give numerical scores (on a zero to 10 scale) based on the poets' content and performance. The high score and the low score are dropped and the rest are added to give the poet their score for that round. The top 6 scoring poets (approximately) will advance to the second round. The scores will be wiped clean from the first to the second round and the poets will go in order of lowest scoring to highest scoring poets from the first round in the second round. The top 3 scores from the second round win cash prizes. 2 Rounds.
