Write About Now is the preferred destination of poetry for thousands of individuals each year. Our poetry events have become a bucket list visit for poetry lovers who drive and fly from across the country to attend our shows every single week.

Our open mics are open to ALL.

Our signup lists go up at 7:30 pm. Most individuals start arriving before then to guarantee a spot on the list.

Doors will open at 7:30 pm and the show will start at 8 pm sharp.

Hey folks! We're excited for the show tonight at the beautiful Yours Truly Hotel. Please follow and read through these guidelines to ensure you have a great time.

Parking?

Saturdays in this area of town has free street parking, but it can be difficult to find a spot.

The hotel is giving us a $25 event parking rate. They've shared with me that this is on a first come first serve basis. So make sure you're there early if you want to take advantage of this prime parking discount. Definitely make sure to let them know at valet you're with the poetry show because they charge $65 to park overnight otherwise.

If the above options don't work for you, use the app Spot Hero for the lot or parking spots that make the most sense as far as proximity and price point.

This city is really great for public transportation and you can always uber, lyft or ride share to the hotel as well.

Food and Drinks?

We'll have a full cash bar at the show for drinks.

While the event doesn't serve food, there is an upstairs bar at Yours Truly Hotel where you can order food. This venue is near Georgetown and a lot of great restaurants in DC and you can make plans to eat or pick up food beforehand.

Dress?

Some people dress to the nines others like to dress more casual. Dress in whatever makes you feel the best.

Sign Ups?

Sign ups go up as soon as doors open at 7:30 pm. If we can start seating earlier we will.
