Physical Comedy and Playing: An Improv Cooperative Workshop

Explore how to incorporate physicality and playfulness into your practice. Build confidence in using your body and face through a series of fun games and exercises, in a welcoming and safe environment.

This workshop will be hosted by Freya Benteaux. Freya Benteaux (yes, like the pie) is a comedy performer who specialises in making herself look as ridiculous as possible. Coming from a dance background, she incorporates creative movement into her comedy that would make her ballet teacher openly weep (and not in a good way). She participated in various dance and physical theatre residencies, eventually realising that making people laugh made her feel less dead inside. She has been performing on the cabaret and comedy circuit since 2015, sometimes in drag as Wee Jambo, sometimes as the double act "Hot Death Theatre ", and quite often in a comedy burlesque capacity where she takes her clothes off for laughs.

Our venue is located next to Queen's Park station, with on-street parking outside (subject to availability). The venue is fully accessible.
