About This Event

Pearse Museum and Rathfarnham Castle visit with Pat Murray followed by lunch.

The Pearse Museum is located within the picturesque grounds of St Enda’s Park, one of Dublin’s most charming and tranquil parks. Surrounded by nearly 50 acres of lush parkland, the area features riverside walks, unique garden follies, a peaceful waterfall, and a beautiful walled garden. The museum itself tells the powerful story of Patrick Pearse and his brother William, key figures in Irish history who were executed for their roles in the 1916 Rising. A visit here offers a thoughtful blend of natural beauty and historical reflection. The castle at Rathfarnham dates back to the Elizabethan period. It was built for Adam Loftus, a Yorkshire clergyman and politician. Loftus was ambitious and eventually rose to become Archbishop of Dublin and Lord Chancellor of Ireland. Loftus’s castle, with its four flanker towers, is an excellent example of the Elizabethan fortified house in Ireland.

9:30am coach departure from Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge.
