Hungarian-Luxembourgish Classical Concert

Fruzsina Varga is one of Hungary’s distinguished flutists. She studied at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, also receiving a scholarship from the Bavarian State Opera. She has performed with leading orchestras such as the Hungarian National Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and even the Vienna Philharmonic, under conductors including Zubin Mehta, Bernard Haitink, Daniel Barenboim and Iván Fischer. She is a prize-winner of several international competitions, among them the Zoltán Jeney and the Syrinx Flute Competitions, and she received the Dohnányi Ernő Award in 2011 as the best orchestral artist of the year. Currently she serves as principal flutist of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Anna Tonie Weber, born in Luxembourg in 1996, completed her Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg under Prof. Éric Le Sage, following earlier studies at the Conservatoire de Luxembourg and at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. She has performed in several European countries—Luxembourg, Germany, France, Hungary, Latvia and Slovenia—and appears regularly at festivals and chamber music events. She is also active in masterclasses with prominent artists such as Boris Berman, Edith Fischer and Konrad Elser. Her artistic interests include chamber music and Hungarian repertoire, which she deepened during her studies in Budapest and continues to cultivate in her concert programmes.
