Free the Witness is a punk rock band from Asbury Park, NJ. Established in 2019. The band has slowly developed a niche sound that brings an electric blend of all your favorite 90s Epitaph and Fat Wreck bands mixed with the operatic vocals of frontman Jake Bédel. They have most notably played alongside punk rock legends NOFX and Descendents as well as supporting local heavy hitters School Drugs. Their most recent record “Dead Man’s Tale”, produced by Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls, saw editorial support from the likes of both Spotify’s “All New Punk” & Apple’s “New in Rock” playlists. Free The Witness’ latest & viral single “Drain Me” has proven that the band is not afraid to pivot into new territories and explore new sounds as they head into 2026 preparing for new songs and consistent touring throughout the U.S.
