Teams don’t get stuck because people don’t know their job. Teams get stuck when pressure goes up and the relationship side of work comes under pressure: trust becomes thinner, assumptions grow, and small frustrations turn into patterns. Sometimes this is loud and visible. More often it is quiet: avoiding topics, talking in the hallway, people holding back, decisions that don’t really land.

This year, Teams on Track focuses on what happens when tensions are rising - or when tensions have already risen. Not to “fix people,” but to strengthen the team as a system: helping the team stay present, speak openly, and handle friction without losing connection.

Expect practical tools, clear language, and small interventions you can use right away - whether your team wants to prevent escalation, or find its way back after things have already heated up.

SPECIAL GUEST - Prof. Martin Euwema

Martin Euwema is Professor of Organizational Psychology at KU Leuven. His research and teaching focus on conflict in organizations, conflict management, mediation, leadership, and teamwork. He is active in international research networks and regularly publishes on how individuals and teams deal with tension and conflict at work.

What characterizes Martin’s work is his ability to connect solid academic research with everyday organizational reality. He does not start from abstract models, but from what people in teams actually experience: pressure, change, differing expectations, and the challenge of working well together.

That combination of scientific grounding and practical relevance makes him a strong intellectual anchor for Teams on Track, helping participants better understand conflict, where it comes from, and how teams can engage with it constructively.
