MEETING POINT: The Cross of Sacrifice just inside the Hard Lane entrance.

St Helens Cemetery is the final resting places of 100s of local and other Commonwealth casualties of both world wars. An 18-year-old cadet of the Royal Air Force who died in 1918 in a tragic flying accident just three days before Armistice Day. Australian and Canadian personnel, brothers buried together, and others buried far from their homeland including a Royal Yugoslav Petty Officer, Polish Soldier, an American citizen who enlisted in a Liverpool Regiment, a Norwegian fisherman who served in a British regiment.

The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 400 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground. The tour is suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Parking is available outside the gates and also at main car park off Rainford Road (10 minute walk to meeting place). There are no toilets at weekends - 10 minute walk during weekdays. There are no other facilities on site, so please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welome in the cemetery.
