Ceramics Fair Exclusive Preview Evening

Join us at The Whitworth for an exclusive preview evening of the 2026 Manchester Ceramics Fair, hosted in our iconic gallery 3, overlooking Whitworth Park and the Grand Hall. Organised in partnership with the Manchester Ceramics Fair, this expanded showcase features over 70 hand-picked artisans from across the North West and beyond.

The collection spans an incredible breadth of practice, ranging from traditional studio potters producing refined functional tableware to contemporary artists creating bold sculptural and architectural forms.

Visitors can explore a vast array of techniques and styles, including: Wheel-thrown stoneware, delicate slip-cast Parian porcelain, and intricate hand-built sculptures.
Experimental Finishes: Unique soda-fired pieces, crystalline glazes, and works incorporating foraged "wild" clay and wood ash. Eclectic Inspirations: Pieces influenced by folklore, industrial heritage, coastal landscapes, and modern social commentary.

This evening offers a rare chance to meet the makers and secure "first dibs" on exceptional pieces before the fair opens to the public for the weekend. Grab a gift for someone special - or yourself!

Your ticket includes a complimentary drink—bottled beer, a glass of house wine, or a soft drink—from the cafe bar, with The Whitworth Shop also remaining open for browsing. Additional snacks and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the night.
