2026 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium

The 2026 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium (May 19) will be an in-person event at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, Cambridge, MA.

The theme is Human-AI Synergy: Redfining Leadership for a Transformative Future. As AI reshapes the enterprise landscape, CIOs must lead not only with technical expertise but with vision for transformation. This theme emphasizes how human insight and AI tools together can unlock new levels of innovation, efficiency, and resilience—without blurring the line that AI remains a tool under human leadership. It explores how to reimagine decision-making frameworks, cultivate uniquely human capabilities (empathy, judgment, critical thinking), and responsibly deploy and orchestrate agentic AI systems.By focusing on transformation, the theme highlights strategies to balance automation with augmentation, prepare workforces for an evolving economy, and embed ethical leadership at the core of digital enterprise strategy.

The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium is the nation’s premier CIO event bringing together information technology executives from around the world and leading faculty from MIT. The annual event offers interactive learning and thought-provoking discourse on the future of technology, best practices, and business that is not available anywhere else. It includes presentations, panels, networking and a closing reception. The annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium began in 2004 and continues to adapt to changing times.
