The Radcliffe Pitches are Harvard's oldest treble a cappella group, founded in 1975 when women were still barred from formal admittance to Harvard University. The Pitches perform a large and varied repertoire of jazz standards, swing, and contemporary pieces, drawing upon the musical stylings of inspirational figures such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Stevie Wonder. The Pitches perform at Sanders Theater once a semester, and tour domestically and internationally throughout the year. With signature arrangements featuring close harmonies, swing rhythms, scats, and choreography, each performance blends the Pitches’ modern identity with a commitment to preserving the group's history and the jazz standards that have captivated audiences throughout generations.
