Alisha Hayes

Hello I’m Alisha, the face behind Badger & Bumblebee!I’m a needle-felter and illustrator originally from Byron Bay, Australia. I grew up surrounded by nature and watching David Attenborough documentaries, as such I have a great interest in learning about native wildlife and sourcing local materials for my sculptures. I moved to Manchester almost 10 years ago and have travelled all over the United Kingdom. On my travels I became inspired by the diverse wildlife found here.As well as making custom sculptures of pets and wildlife, I love storytelling, being creative and engaging with the local community. The act of needle felting is a special one as you can make anything using wool, a needle and a bit of patience. It’s mindful to sit in a group and tell stories while learning a skill together and this is why I love leading workshops!
