Women's Music Industry Support Group: Holding Both

Sometimes you’re building something professionally while your personal life is quietly rearranging itself.

You’re chasing deadlines while grieving. Writing songs while navigating a breakup. Touring while becoming a mother. Starting over in a new city. Caring for someone else. Relearning who you are.

This month, we’re talking about how to hold both. The career you care deeply about and the life that is shifting underneath you.

How do we pursue meaningful work without pretending life isn’t happening? How do we adjust expectations when our capacity changes? What does ambition look like in a season that feels tender, uncertain, or new?

The Women’s Music Industry Support Group is a monthly, confidential gathering for women across all corners of the music industry to connect, reflect, and support one another.

This month, we’re turning toward how we take care of ourselves in this industry. Not as a concept, but as a lived practice. Together, we’ll explore the inner voice we carry into our work, the standards we hold ourselves to, and the moments we push past our own needs instead of listening. We’ll reflect on what it might look like to meet ourselves with more compassion, without guilt or apology.

This gathering is about naming what’s real. About releasing the pressure to be unaffected. About supporting one another as whole humans, not just professionals. To support that, all participants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement, ensuring that what’s shared in the room remains private.
