WITHIN THE STATIC / HIVE - A live theatre and new music performance

WITHIN THE STATIC / HIVE

Featuring actor Mehdi Mashadi Kazemi and an ensemble of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire students performing new music composed by Juliana Niu.

This work unfolds over the course of forty minutes. 'WITHIN THE STATIC' explores escapism through a synthesis of physical theatre and music, shaped by cyclical patterns that eventually break and transform. This gives way to a tumultuous monologue (written by Mehdi), reimagined and intensified through music entitled 'HIVE.'

This performance is the result of a collaborative partnership between actor and composer. We hope to stir the audience and incite further thought through the expressionist nature of the work and the themes that are explored.

There is no interval, no escape.
