About the Cookbook
A unique narrative cookbook, Will This Make You Happy weaves together over fifty inventive but approachable baking recipes with a lyrical coming-of-age story, following author Tanya Bush through a transformative year of baking, indulgence, and self-discovery.
Now the co-founder of the James Beard nominated literary magazine Cake Zine and pastry chef at Brooklyn's Little Egg, Bush chronicles a journey that carries her from her tiny apartment to the sunlit kitchens of an Italian agriturismo to the basement of a bustling Brooklyn Bakery. Recipes are all designed to be mixed, matched, and adapted to the season.
Readers will find:
- Neapolitan Pavlova
- Hojicha Tiramisu
- Blueberry Jam Corn Muffins
- Cardamom Crullers
- Dark Chocolate & Toasted Coconut Birthday Cake
- ...and so much more!
The recipes rounding out each section punctuate Bush's Devourable prose with an invitation to slow down, bake, and absorb. As distinctive as the form of the book is its format, featuring evocative illustrations and striking, unconventional photography in a tote-able 6x9 package.
A culinary memoir, a recipe collection, a love story - Will This Make You Happy is so many things at once, each of them iressistible.
