About This Event

Oscar-winning film about the brilliant but arrogant Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the jealous composer Salieri who plots his downfall.

WDAV proudly presents Amadeus (1984), the next in our new Reel Music film series. Grab your popcorn and join fellow film and classical fans for a showing on the big screen at the Independent Picture House in Charlotte.

Tom Hulce stars in Amadeus, the classic 1984 film directed by Miloš Forman. This fictionalized account of the relationship between Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian composer Antonio Salieri won 8 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Told primarily through the bitter recollections of a now-elderly Salieri, the movie is a tale of overwhelming jealousy, betrayal, and the tragic price of unappreciated genius.

Director: Miloš Forman

Cast: Tom Hulce, F. Murray Abraham

WDAV's Reel Music series is sponsored by Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates.
