About This Event

Beginners jewellery making class exploring the ancient art of wax carving to make a ring or pendant design which will be cast in silver.

This jewellery class is suitable for beginners and no previous experience is needed as you'll be carefully guided through the process from start to finish

Join Bristol jeweller Elin Horgan for a 2.5 hour silver pendant or silver ring making workshop. During this fun, relaxed jewellery making class you'll use wax carving techniques to make your own ring or pendant design which will then be cast in silver.

Throughout the jewellery making class, you'll learn about the ancient technique of lost wax casting and use a range of simple tools to carve stunning effects and textures in the wax.

By the end of the session you will have created a wax master which will be sent away to London’s Hatton Garden for casting in silver. Elin will then hand finish and polish your unique handmade jewellery and post it back to you a few weeks later, beautifully packaged in a Fairtrade cotton pouch.

Should you wish to have your finished piece plated in yellow or rose gold then an extra £30 is payable on the night.
