About This Event
Darren McGarvey live is an unflinching, thought-provoking exploration of trauma culture, power & society, plus audience Q&A.
Join Orwell Prize-winning author, broadcaster and social commentator Darren McGarvey for a powerful live event exploring the themes of his latest book, Trauma Industrial Complex.
In this unflinching and thought-provoking talk, Darren examines how trauma has become embedded in contemporary culture, from personal identity and public discourse to media, politics and social life. Drawing on lived experience, cultural critique and sharp social insight, he challenges audiences to reconsider how we understand suffering, resilience and storytelling in modern society.
This is not a conventional book reading. Itβs an engaging, reflective and often provocative live exploration of trauma culture and its wider implications.
The evening will conclude with an open audience Q&A session, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with Darren on the ideas raised during the talk.
This event is suitable for anyone interested in social change, culture, wellbeing, politics and contemporary public discourse.
