About This Event

Full-day hands-on educator intensive where you leave with a complete system for planning and delivering purposeful art sessions.

The Mini Ivy Art Method™ — Full-Day Educator Intensive

A hands-on professional learning day for early years educators who want to teach visual arts with confidence, structure, and real developmental purpose.

Most educators are expected to run art experiences every week, yet very few have ever been shown how to structure them intentionally, what different materials actually develop in children, or how to guide creativity without over-directing outcomes.

This full-day intensive changes that.

Led by Valando Demetriou, founder of Mini Ivy Art Studio, this session provides a clear, practical framework educators can apply immediately to plan and deliver purposeful art experiences that support fine motor development, focus, independence, confidence, and school readiness.

What You’ll Gain

• A simple structure for planning and running purposeful art sessions
• Clear understanding of what different art materials develop in children
• Practical teaching language that builds persistence and confidence
• Strategies to guide creativity while still allowing child ownership
• Insight into linking art experiences to developmental outcomes and EYLF
• Hands-on examples and approaches you can implement straight away

This is not a lecture-style workshop.
It is an implementation-focused training designed to change how art is taught in your classroom from the very next day.

Who This Intensive Is For

• Early learning educators and teachers working with preschool-aged children
• Educators who want more confidence guiding art experiences
• Teams wanting to move beyond activity-based art toward intentional teaching
• Centres and schools focused on school readiness and developmental outcomes
