About This Event
Join us at RCOT’s first in‑person Spotlight Event to explore parenting as an occupation.
What’s it all about?
Join us for our first in-person RCOT Spotlight Event for 2026 and explore parenting as an occupation and its vital role in shaping the health, development and future of children, young people and families.
You'll have practical takeaways from plenary sessions, get involved in case-based discussions, and connect with colleagues. You’ll gain fresh insights, share experiences and discover practical strategies to support parents in diverse contexts. Join us to deepen your understanding and strengthen your practice in this important – but sometimes neglected – area of occupational therapy.
Important!
Have you booked onto the two‑part ‘Occupational Therapy in Neonatal Care for Enhanced Level Practitioners’ workshop? If you have, your ticket automatically gives you access to this Spotlight event. You do not need to book or pay again.
Who’s the event for?
Occupational therapists working
- with children in community settings, hospitals and elsewhere
- in neonatal care
- in perinatal mental health
- with parents of young children in other areas of practice, including neurology, learning disabilities and social care

- Understand the significance of parenting as an occupation in shaping the future of health, development and life outcomes for children, young people and adults
