About This Event

Soap Box story telling show

This is NOT an all Ages Event

Get ready for a night of real stories and raw truths at

Soap Box Stories

This Storytelling show is your chance to hear it all—from hilarious childhood memories to those unforgettable, awkward life moments we’ve all tried to hide. Our storytellers will bare their souls (and probably their dignity) to share true, personal confessions that will have you relating on a whole new level.

Hosted by John Janezic, @johnjanezic each show will feature a lineup of brave souls ready to spill the beans, with stories ranging from heartwarming to downright ridiculous, this show offers a unique blend of humor, vulnerability, and unforgettable moments.

Guest Storytellers for the night.

Debra Rich Gettleman: An award-winning journalist and radio broadcaster, Debra is also an accomplished actor, playwright, and producer. She's best known for her time hosting the provocative Debra Rich Show on KFI radio in Los Angeles and for her abrupt departure from Phoenix's KFYI, where she was fired after her intro monologue offended the entire listening audience.

Carly Davis: Teaches, coaches, and produces live storytelling events. She likes the messy, raunchy, cringey, and true ones best.

Randy Walters: Randy is the current 10-time recipient of the prestigious “Brown University’s Lower Level Storytelling and Humor Including Tall Tales” award!

Ruth Easterling: Ruth grew up in New Jersey listening to her father and grandmother share stories, whether you wanted to listen or not! An empty nester of two young adults, wealth management professional, avid yogi and reiki practictioner, she sees life as a journey to be explored through curiosity. This curiosity of life has provided many inspirations for the stories she shares. Her joy comes from inspiring people to make connections to their heart, life and each other.

Susan Sheldon: Susan was a corporate lender at a bank, while participating in improvisational theater at the Player’s Workshop in Chicago and studying voice with a private voice coach. She then received her M.Ed. and became a Chicago Public School teacher, challenging both her creative and analytical sides. She is the Center Director at a math learning center in Mesa, while homeschooling, providing life coaching to woman in her personal practice, First Breath, and writing stories on the side. However, her mind is most at ease when she is relaxing with her husband, her two daughters and her many pets bouncing around their home in Mesa.
