Scottish Manual Handling Forum 2 Day Conference - 20th - 21st May 2026

The superbly reviewed Scottish Manual Handling Conference will be held on Wednesday 20th - Thursday 21st May 2026 at our favourite venue - the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel, Glasgow.

We warmly welcome anyone who has an interest in manual handling to attend our popular biennial event.

From any profession, sector and at any stage in your experience of manual handling, we have a mixed programme that offers learning to those newly starting out and to those who are more experienced within their industry. The SMHF core group are from different sectors and have endeavoured to represent the varied workplaces in the conference programme. This is the perfect opportunity to network, meet new peers, catch up with old colleagues and share ideas and experiences with those within similar vocations.

The conference is supported by over 30 fantastic exhibitors and there will be ample time each day to spend speaking to the company representatives and trying out the equipment they have on offer.

Our program includes speakers from different sectors of health and social care and industry. With interactive and practical workshops, we will be covering a wide range of topics including object handling, complex risk assessment and care of people with particular conditions.

2026 Programme

There are three, one hour Workshop Sessions per day:

• Wednesday 20th May - 11:50 / 14:45 / 15:50
• Thursday 21st May - 11:35 / 13:40 / 14:45

You are able to choose one workshop from each of the sessions.

SOCIAL EVENING: Wednesday will see our fantastic social evening in the Waterhouse starting at 7pm with a drinks reception in the central exhibiting area, then dinner dance 7.30pm. Make sure you choose the correct inclusive ticket if you wish to join in!

ACCOMMODATION: There are a limited number of hotel rooms available to book at the special rate (B&B) via the Golden Jubilee events team on 0141 951 6006. The special rate is only available when booked over the phone or by followiing the instructions HERE.

This is a popular event so we recommend booking early to ensure you can stay onsite.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY We understand that plans can change. Ticket changes may be made prior to the event - including transfering to another delegate - subject to workshop availability. Refund requests must be submitted by email to smhf2000@gmail.com more than 14 days before the event start date to be eligible for a refund. Where refunds are approved, a £20 administration fee per ticket will be retained. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer refunds within 14 days of the event.
