About This Event
Join us for RBC's January event as we explore goals through Rutger Bregman's "Moral Ambition".
Welcome to the RBC Manchester event, where we'll be diving into the theme of Goals, through Rutger Bregman's "Moral Ambition: Stop Wasting Your Talent and Start Making a Difference".
More about Moral Ambition
What if you want to do something more with your limited time on the planet? Bestselling author Rutger Bregman shows us that with moral ambition - the will to make the world a wildly better place - we can be both idealistic and successful, and change the world along the way. Uncovering the qualities that made the great change-makers of history so effective, he shows how we too can lend our talents to the biggest challenges of our time, from climate change to inequality to the next pandemic. With moral ambition, we can do more than be on the right side of history: we can make history itself.
Why we chose it: “This book won't make your life easier, but it should make it more meaningful. The question is: what will you do with it?”
Delicious drinks are included, as well as engaging storytelling and space for conversations and sharing your own journeys across countries and continents.
Interested? Want to join us at our January event?
Try out the club with Eventbrite - new customers only. Ticket price includes access to the Manchester Rebel Book Club event plus a welcome drink (alcoholic + non-alcoholic options available).
Your host for the evening
Omar Latif
Omar is the founder of an AI startup and also pursuing a PhD in Behavioural AI. One big reason Omar joined RBC is to get away from academic literature, gain knowledge in areas outside of his interests and to have engaging conversations with the awesome community.
There is a clear alliance with the philosophy and taste of RBC as Omar has already read 70% of the books from the Rebel Book Club library!
Ryan Fellows
Co-host Ryan is an Honorary Salfordian having lived here for 14 years, but proudly born and raised in Preston
Having discovered RBC during ‘lockdown’ the monthly variety was a welcome distraction and the old zoom meets’ helped keep his sanity! Post Covid he’s looking to help build the Manchester crew
A keen amateur historian and lover of most sports; when not delving into a new book he’ll be watching the weekend's football or out running (in the famous Manchester rain!).
