Intimate evening at the Portuguese Ambassador's residence. Concert and dinner of Portuguese delicacies by the Ambassador's staff.
The International Club of DC with the cooperation of the Embassy of Portugal and His Excellency Ambassador Francisco Duarte Lopes, the Portuguese Ambassador to the United States, cordially request the pleasure of your company for the rare delight of an evening featuring a dinner buffet feast of Portuguese delicacies prepared especially for you by the Ambassador's staff followed by a delightful concert.

Enjoy a delightful piano concert featuring Nuno Marques, one of Portugal's finest and most sought-after Portuguese pianists followed by dinner.

Nuno Marques brings 'Fados for Piano' to DC—a visionary collection by Alexandre Rey Colaço. Journey back to the early 20th century, where the tradition of Fado meets classical virtuosity. A night of music that is rarely performed, but deeply felt. Come rediscover Fado as you’ve never heard it before.
The intimate and beautiful setting of the Portuguese Ambassador’s residence provides the perfect setting for you to discover Portugal through all your senses while meeting the Ambassador*, distinguished diplomats and staff at the embassy along with ICDC members in attendance.
The dinner buffet of Portuguese delicacies will be presented with limited seating after the concert. The dinner reception also includes wine and drinks served at the bar.
Please reserve your tickets soon, as space is very limited and the event is expected to sell out in advance. Discounted tickets available for a limited time. As we reach capacity, the ticket price is subject to increase.
* Please note that if the Ambassador is called away for official business, the Deputy Chief of Mission or other high ranking diplomat from the embassy will welcome you to the Embassy.

Kindly do not arrive prior to 6:30 PM, as we are unable to admit guests prior to 6:30 PM due to ongoing arrangements to prepare for the event. Please do arrive promptly at 6:30 PM to be seated for the concert. Dinner is presented at the conclusion of the concert with the event concluding at about 9:00 PM. :::: Nuno Marques: Biography
Nuno Marques, is an acclaimed Portuguese pianist, collaborative artist, and music director. He has established a successful international career from his current base in New York City, where he is the founder and artistic director of Porto Pianofest, an annual international music festival in Portugal. Building upon the success of its Summer edition, the festival presents annual events in New York, Washington DC, Madrid, and Paris.
As a soloist, he performed with several orchestras worldwide, recorded for labels and classical radios in Portugal and Spain, and is a founding member of Atlantic Collective.
He performed in some of the most renowned music halls, including Carnegie Hall, two tours in China; masterclasses in Portugal, Spain, Serbia, Myanmar, China, and the US.
Nuno Marques is Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from Rutgers University and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Royal College of Music, London.
He is currently a pianist at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, and a guest pianist at NYC Ballet. He is also the Music Director of Stars of American Ballet, a dance company that brings together principal dancers from major American companies, having toured Hungary, Israel, Portugal, and USA.
Nuno Marques is a Yamaha Artist.
