JG Wilkes continues to carry the Optimo (Espacio) spirit forward after a tumultuous year marked by the loss of his longtime partner and co-founder, JD Twitch. After more than 30 years behind the decks, Wilkes remains one of the most distinctive DJs in the world — fearless in selection, deeply intuitive, and a reminder of the enduring power of great music in an increasingly fragmented digital age.

Formed in Glasgow in 1997, Optimo became synonymous with transformative dancefloor experiences, equally at home on global festival stages and in intimate basement clubs. Their influence extends far beyond DJing, through landmark mixes, an ongoing NTS residency, the Optimo Music label, and a long-standing commitment to grassroots culture and political activism.
