United Adoration and Holy Nativity Church (in Halifax, England) invite you to an in-person Multi-Arts Retreat with Andy Clark & Elise Massa on 20th - 22nd March, 2026!
Our retreat will focus on the theme of “Northern Saints: Pilgrimage and Promise" The practice of Pilgrimage has seen a resurgence in recent years with those seeking spiritual fulfilment or physical challenge finding that this ancient way of walking from our everyday lives with a destination and perhaps a deeper goal in mind can offer space, time and perspective which we are lacking in our hurried lives.
We in the North of England are being encouraged by the Archbishop of York to reflect on what it might mean to be a pilgrim in our local area, and how we might draw on the riches of our own Northern Saints to help us travel on our journeys of faith and discovery.
Our retreat will offer opportunities to explore and reflect on the theme - what does it mean to be a pilgrim? What do the Northern Saints of the past teach us about our history and heritage and how might we be inspired by them on our own journeys?
However you create – songwriters, visual artists, writers, poets, textiles and more…you are welcome! This retreat is designed to create a unique space where artists, creatives, and those interested in worshipping through the arts can come together for a dedicated time of creativity, collaboration, fun, and encouragement.
Registration (£25) includes:
- Friday Night Beer & Songs (20th March @ 18:00): Join hosts Robb & Ruth Sutherland and retreat leaders Andy Clark & Elise Massa for a licensed bar, hot drinks and cold snacks. Hear original music and your favourite requests played by the band! Donations welcome.
- Saturday Retreat Day (21st March, 10:00 - 17:00) will include lunch, with snacks and drinks throughout the day to keep the creative energy flowing. We work to accommodate dietary needs such as gluten / dairy free (you can share information on dietary needs in your registration)
