Join us in person to boost your skills for delivering awesome residential experiences in Modules 16 & 38!
Modules 16 & 38: Delivering & Skills for Residential Experiences - for members of South East Scotland Region only.
Are you an adult volunteer looking to gain your Nights Away Permit or build confidence in running overnight activities for young people? Join us for a practical and engaging learning weekend at Bonaly Scout Centre, where you will complete:
Module 16: Introduction to Residential Experiences
This module introduces the principles of residential experiences, your responsibilities as a leader or supporter, and how residential events fit within the Scouts programme.
Module 38: Skills for Residential Experiences
This module focuses on the essential skills needed to plan, organise and run safe and enjoyable overnight stays for young people. It links directly to the Scouts Nights Away Permit Scheme and is a key part of the learning required to gain a Nights Away Permit.
Together, these modules provide a strong foundation for anyone wishing to apply for a Nights Away Permit and are ideal for leaders and supporters who want to develop their residential skills.
Who should attend?
· Adult volunteers from South East Scotland Region working towards a Nights Away Permit
· Leaders and supporters who want to build confidence in running camps and overnight events
· Anyone who needs to complete Module 16 and Module 38 as part of their learning
What you will gain
· A clear understanding of the Nights Away Permit Scheme
· Practical skills for planning and delivering residential experiences
· Guidance on safety, safeguarding and good practice
· Completion of Modules 38 and 16 for your learning record
· Opportunities to share ideas and experiences with other volunteers
Event details
· Location: Bonaly Scout Centre
· Dates: 27-29th March 2026
· Times: 6pm Friday to 4.30pm Sunday (attendees need to be on site throughout)
· Accommodation: Camping (bring your own tent or borrow one from SES)
· Cost: £25 per person – you may wish to ask Scouts Scotland, your District or your Group to support the cost (note, the Region are picking up additional costs for the weekend).
