The prominent jazz tenor saxophonist, educator, and composer, known for his soulful tone and powerful improvisational style, is recognized as one of the most significant tenor saxophonists of his generation, blending a robust, traditional sound with modern technical mastery. He rose to prominence in the early 1990s and has performed and recorded with numerous jazz icons including Shirley Scott, Jimmy Smith, Donald Byrd, Dizzy Gillespie, Nicholas Payton, Stefon Harris, Christian McBride, Terell Stafford and many others.
