LGBTQ+ Swim and Gym session at Bramley Baths

LLCC are excited to be launching a new set of swim and gym sessions at Bramley Baths! The space is booked from 5:30-6:30PM and during that time, the only people accessing the space will be people who have signed up for the session. There final session before ours is at 5:00, so changing rooms should be empty to anyone but those of us signed up for the session. We welcome anyone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and aim to be an inclusive space for people of all ages, genders and body types.

Please note that this is not a learning programme. This is an opportunity to access the pool and gym facilitaties with other people however there will not be anyone teaching swimming. If you would like to know more about learning to swim in your area we would suggest that you speak with your local leisure centre or visit the Swim England website.

When you arrive at the session, our lovely facilitator Nat (or another member of our team) will be there to greet you, they'll take down your name and ask you some data monitoring questions.

Accessibility at Bramley Baths

The main entrance to Bramley Baths is flat and completely accessible.

The Pool is ground Level with disability changing and toilet facilities.

There is equipment to allow easy access into the pool (Pool Hoist) and flotation equipment if it is needed during your swim. Leeds LGBTQ+ Community Consortium works with partners to reduce social isolation amongst older, unwell, disabled or otherwise restricted members of the LGBTQ+ communities. We aim to improve health and by providing inter-generational activities, events and information to enable LGBTQ+ people to develop new interests and become more connected.

Yes!

Can I come to sessions if I’m not a member of the LGBT Community? LLCC is proud to offer our sessions for free. This is because we receive funding to host sessions and events specifically for people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ Community. Allies of the LGBTQ+ Community are encouraged to promote our sessions to LGBTQ+ friends, service users and colleagues.
