About This Event
Screening of Italian silent Horror and Fantasy film 'L'Inferno', accompanied by live music from NYSSA and Al Robinson (Supported by BFI FAN)
Join Theatreship for live music lead by Ignacio Salvadores (GAL GO) to seminal Italian silent film L'Inferno (1911).
Recognized as Italy's first ever full-length feature, L'Inferno was directed by Francesco Bertolini, Adolfo Padovan, and Giuseppe de Liguoro. Inspired by Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and Gustave Doré's illustrations, the 68-minute film took three years to produce, featuring pioneering special effects like double exposure to depict scenes of hell.
Ignacio Salvadores (GAL GO) is a multi-instrumentalist from Buenos Aires, based in London since 2016. His work blends jazz, rock, and experimental music, often sung in Spanish. Known for his collaborations with Archy Marshall (King Krule), Salvadores creates music that feels intimate, atmospheric, and difficult to categorise.
Joining Ignacio, is Nyssa is a Canadian songwriter, vocalist and flautist specialising in pagan storytelling and song-craft as modern alchemy plus a member of bands Findom & Glass Eel.
And Al Robinson, aka Fiscal Harm, is a British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, NTS resident and member of groups such as Nabihah Iqbal, Sniffany & the nits & Findom.
This event is part of Silent Film with New Sound season at Theatreship.
Programme supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London. Proud to be a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery.
