About This Event
Come learn more about the museum's newest exhibit Tennessee Voices, American Stories.
Curators Miranda Fraley Rhodes and Tranae’ Chatman will share information about Tennesseans featured in the exhibit and the exciting process of researching their lives, including new discoveries, using artifacts as historical sources, and great collaborations with exhibit partners.
Miranda Fraley Rhodes serves as the assistant chief curator at the Tennessee State Museum. Her projects include serving as lead curator on multiple temporary exhibits such as Ratified! Tennessee Women and the Right to Vote and recently Tennessee Voices, American Stories. She received her B.A. in history and English from Washington University in St. Louis and her M.A. and Ph.D. in history from Indiana University at Bloomington. Prior to her time at the museum, she worked for the National Park Service.
Tranae Chatman, MBA serves as the museum’s curator of social history. She served as lead curator on the temporary exhibit Photography in Tennessee: Early Studios in the Medium’s First Century and as co-curator for Tennessee Voices, American Stories. She matriculated from Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville and from Middle Tennessee State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in history in 2018 and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2020.
This Lunch and Learn event is in-person in the Museum’s Digital Learning Center at 12:00. No RSVPs are required to attend this free event. It will also be livestreamed on the Museum’s website at TNMuseum.org/Videos. If you have any questions, please email Public.Programs@tn.gov.Boxed lunches made by Apple Spice Nashville are available for purchase for $12.24 to enjoy during the event. The lunches will include a sandwich, chips, and a cookie. Lunch orders must be placed by noon on Tuesday March 17, 2026. Please order your boxed lunch on the ticket registration page.
