Introduction to Bike Maintenance

Keep Your Bike in Top Shape with Rediscover Cycling!

Learn essential skills to keep your bicycle running smoothly and safely in this hands-on workshop with Mark from Rediscover Cycling. Regular maintenance of tyres and brakes not only extends the life of your bike's components but also ensures a safer and more enjoyable ride.

What you’ll learn:

• How to fit inner tubes
• Inspecting and identifying damaged or worn tubes and tyres
• Rebuilding and setting up mechanical brakes from scratch
• General maintenance tips for chains, saddles, and handlebars
• Simplified, take-home notes for future reference

Participants are encouraged to bring their own bike to practise maintaining their specific components. If you’re unable to bring your bike, no problem! Just email us at bikes@rediscoverycentre.ie with details about the type of bike you typically use, and we’ll do our best to provide a similar one for the workshop.
