About This Event
Actress Jennie Garth talks fame, motherhood, aging in Hollywood and self-care in her new memoir with WBUR's Meghan Kelly.
Jennie Garth is best known for playing Kelly Taylor in the television series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” which ran for ten seasons. Now in her 50s, she has written a new memoir, “I Choose Me,” where she opens up about handling fame as a young woman, her failed marriages, being the mother of three daughters and aging in a youth-obsessed Hollywood. In this candid book, Garth empowers women to embrace self care, trust your own voice and become your truest self.
Meghan Kelly, Senior Editor, Audience Engagement & Platforms (who has seen every episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210”), moderates.
Copies of the book will be available to purchase from our bookstore partner Brookline Booksmith, and Garth will sign following the conversation.
About “I Choose Me”
Jennie Garth is best known for playing the iconic role of Kelly Taylor in the beloved television series “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Now in her 50s, Jennie Garth opens up like never before in “I Choose Me.” Inspired by her thought-provoking podcast of the same name, Jennie brings her signature mix of warmth, honesty and humor to this deeply personal book about self-discovery and reclaiming your power.
Through fame, heartbreak, motherhood and reinvention, Jennie has learned the vital importance of putting on her own oxygen mask first, prioritizing her own needs and desires so that she can thrive and uplift others. In this inspiring book, Jennie takes readers inside this life changing personal mission, empowering women to embrace self-care and take ownership of their mental and physical well-being.
Blending intimate stories and hard-won wisdom on a variety of topics —from health and aging to motherhood and relationships, grief, faith and finding purpose — Jennie’s reflections offer a road map to help you say yes to your truest self. Whether it’s finding clarity in chaos, carving out moments for yourself or learning to trust your voice again, she shows how choosing “you” isn’t selfish — it’s the most powerful act of self-respect.
