Friday Nite Workshop: Neurographic Web painting with Watercolors

This immersive watercolor workshop invites participants to explore the expressive and meditative process of creating a Neurographic Web Painting, an abstract composition built from flowing lines, layered shapes, and vibrant color relationships. Open to all skill levels, this workshop is ideal for beginners and experienced artists alike who want to deepen their understanding of watercolor while enjoying creative freedom and discovery.

The session begins with a short demonstration introducing basic watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry applications, layering transparent washes, softening edges, and managing water control. Participants will also be guided through the neurographic approach to drawing intuitive, continuous lines and transforming intersections into organic shapes that create visual flow and balance.

A key focus of the workshop is creating depth through layering and the intentional use of complementary colors. You’ll learn how contrasting hues interact to energize a composition, create movement, and add dimensional richness. Emphasis will be placed on color harmony, value shifts, and overlapping forms to build complexity without overworking the piece.

After the initial demo, participants will work at their own pace, experimenting with unique line work, shapes, and color combinations. This process-centered workshop encourages play, curiosity, and personal interpretation—no two paintings will look the same. Individual guidance and optional prompts will be available throughout.
