About This Event

A gentle workshop to reconnect with yourself and the natural world as spring awakens.

In this gentle workshop following the Spring Equinox, Laura and Emily will hold space for you to reconnect with yourself and the natural world as spring awakens.

At this time of newness and growth, we will explore what within you is in balance, and what within you needs to be brought into balance. You will leave with a renewed sense of what you need and where you want to focus your energy in order to flourish through the coming months.

The workshop is carefully designed to offer you space to move, to quietly reflect, and to connect with others. We will walk the beautiful labyrinth in the church garden as part of the morning.

Inspired by Mary Oliver’s poem, “Such Singing in the Wild Branches”, we invite you to “fly on your heavy feet” and embrace the light and growth that comes with spring, to find the song that you need for your own path ahead.

You will need:

  • A yoga mat or towel for indoor activities.
  • Warm, weather-appropriate clothes and shoes for walking the labyrinth.
  • Writing materials.
  • A cushion or shawl if you wish for sitting more comfortably.
  • An umbrella, if you wish, if it is raining.

We will provide warming hot chocolate, tea and biscuits.

About Emily

Hello! My name is Emily (she/her) and I am a celebrant in the greater Edinburgh area, Scotland. Meeting new people, hearing their stories, and finding ways to bring heartfelt magic into their rite of passage truly brings me joy. In my work as a celebrant, I use the listening, writing, and presenting skills I have honed throughout my career as an anthropologist, and combine them with my significant experience of writing, leading, and holding sacred space for group ceremony in my own Earth-based spiritual tradition.
