Empowering Workplace Wellness - IN-PERSON

The 2023 North Carolina Healthcare Needs Survey identifies substance misuse and mental health as the state’s most urgent healthcare priorities, surpassing cancer, asthma, and obesity, with nearly 85% of individuals experiencing substance misuse also facing co-occurring mental health conditions—many of which go undiagnosed or untreated. Because 76% of affected adults are employed full time, these challenges significantly impact workplace culture, performance, and overall organizational health, especially in a post-COVID environment where personal and professional boundaries continue to blur. In this session, behavioral health expert Ward Blanchard will explore the realities of co-occurring disorders in the workplace and share practical, recovery-supportive strategies that reduce stigma, support employee wellbeing, and strengthen organizational outcomes.
