Dumyat Hill Race 2026

The Dumyat Hill Race is the University of Stirling's flagship running event, and a popular fixture on the Scottish hill running calendar. This race provides a fun, challenging event set around our beautiful campus.

The University of Stirling student and staff tradition has now become a staple in the Scottish Hill Running calendar. The Dumyat Hill Race doubles as the Scottish Student Sport Hill Running Championship and Scottish Hill Running Race.

Future Forest Company:

We continue to support The Future Forest Company to help turn the Dumyat Hill Race into an exemplar of sustainable land management.

The Future Forest Company (sister organisation to Trees not Tees), are on a mission to plant enough trees by 2030 to remove 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Individually, trees are a powerful tool for carbon sequestration. As forests, they play an even more valuable role in supporting ecosystem regeneration and biodiversity. They are planting over 300,000 trees on the iconic Dumyat hillside estate, using a range of tree species, predominantly native broadleaf.

Your entry to the race gives you the opportunity to contribute to the ecological restoration of the area and sponsor the planting of a tree at Dumyat. You’ll receive a certificate from The Future Forest Company with species and What3Words location of your sapling.

Schedule:

• Pre-register online up to Sunday 3 May
• Number collection on race day only from 5.30pm - 6.30pm
• Race briefing from 6.50pm
• Race starts at 7pm
• Prize presentations and stovies from 7.45pm

Prizes:

• 1st place runner (Open, University Student, University Student Team, University of Stirling Staff, Veteran, Superveteran)

Tickets:

A limited number of Early Bird tickets are available for each race category from Monday 5 January 2025.

You may only enter one race category and that there will be no on the day entries available.

Tickets purchased at the student rate will require proof of study on the evening.

All entrants will receive a portion of post-race Stovies from our catering team.

Terms and conditions:

Entrants to the Dumyat Hill Race must be 16 or over.

To ensure the safety of all participants and marshals, we may place a time limit on the evening of the race - this will be at the discretion of the organising committee.

Please be aware of weather conditions, ensuring you wear appropriate footwear and clothing.

After the ticket deadline - we're unable to accept new race entries. However, race exchanges are accepted as the discretion of the event organising team.
