Dublin Flirts Back: Candid Chaos with Tuna Angel

Let’s hit the streets of Dublin for close-up shooting full of character!

I usually shoot at about 1.5 meters with flash, but relax: flash lovers and/or natural-light heroes are ALL invited!

Working with flash in candid street takes a bit of courage… but the secret is simple: warm communication, genuine connection, and reading people with kindness. Once you get that right, doors open — and portraits come alive.

Believe me, Dubliners make it even easier. Last year, while working on my Dublin Series’25, I was struck by their kindness, openness, and vibrant spirit in every portrait. I left with a promise to return… and here I am, coming back again.

This time together, let’s turn Dublin into our visual playground. Glowing pub windows with people sipping beer or wine in front, the cobblestones, Georgian doors, bus stops, shop windows, posters — all of it becomes character, color, symbolism and storytelling. We’ll look for those fast everyday moments and turn them into layered, cinematic, human scenes. With the subject in front as a focal point, you will learn how to build layers for further storytelling. You will learn how to detect a promising scene beforehand and have patience to set the right moment to click.
