Domestic and Family Violence: Risk Management

Take your professional practice to the next level with our risk assessment and safety management course, designed for experienced practitioners who provide support to adult victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.

This in-depth course will assist you to:

• Understand the purpose of assessing for risk in domestic and family violence
• Identify factors that indicate risk of serious harm or death in domestic and family violence
• Understand South Australia’s multi-agency response to risk – Family Safety Framework
• Engage people in conversations to assess risk
• Conduct a risk assessment
• Make a referral to Family Safety Meeting
• Respond to risks through safety management strategies
• Understand key principles to document risks and safety.

AIMED AT: Specialist domestic and family practitioners or practitioners who regularly work with vulnerable families and/or adult victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE: Foundational knowledge and skills in recognising and responding to domestic and family violence needed.

DURATION: 10 hours (Over 2 days - Day 1: 9:30am-4:30pm (with break), Day 2: 9:30am-1:00pm).
