DC Shoot Off Photojournalism Workshop 2026

The 19th annual DC Shoot Off Photojournalism Workshop is happening 26-28 March 2026

Check-in, meet-and-greet, portfolio reviews & career counseling begin March 26, 5 PM, in the Navy League Bldg.

This program is managed by Shoot Off Visual Media Workshops, providing not-for-profit educational programming for our military and civil service photographers. The shoot-off programs are supported by the National Association of Naval Photography, a 501(c)(19) military veterans organization.

The competition categories are:

HACKMAN CHALLENGE - open to military and civil service photographers, not eligible to compete in the Egnor Cup.

EGNOR CUP - open to military and veteran alumni of the advanced military photojournalism programs of RIT and Syracuse, and past Hackman Challenge winners.

And of course the CHIP SHOT - for best overall single image from both the Hackman, Egnor, and Shoot Off Online entries.

Also available is SHOOT OFF ONLINE (S2O) - for those who physically can't make it onsite, you can participate in the competition portion online.
