Classic Series: Spices101—From Allspice to Za'atar, $75

Join us for a flavor awakening!Spices have the power to transform everyday cooking into something truly extraordinary, and in this hands-on class, we’ll guide you through the essentials of unlocking their full potential. Together, we’ll explore spice fundamentals—covering everything from how to properly store and care for your spices, to understanding the difference between herbs and spices, and knowing the right times to toast, grind, or blend them.

Beyond the basics, you’ll learn practical tips for weaving spices into your own cooking with confidence, along with expert recommendations for building a versatile and well-stocked spice pantry. To bring it all to life, we’ll share a variety of delicious tastings that showcase how spices can elevate flavor, as well as give you recipes to recreate the magic at home.

Whether you’re new to the kitchen or a seasoned cook looking to deepen your skills, this class will expand your palate, spark your creativity, and leave you inspired to season boldly.

To fully participate in the class:

1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as samples and recipes.

2. Show up on the day of class! Class will begin at 6:30pm. This is a standing event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and fifteen minutes. After class, there will be time to shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).

3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please reach out to classes@formaggiocambridge.com when you make your reservation if you or a member of your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions or requires seating. Our classroom coordinator will help you to determine if the class can be modified to accomodate your needs. The health and safety of our guests is a priority for us.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
