About This Event

A somatics & dance workshop to gently and gradually connect with your body

Body Agency is a somatic dance workshop, a guided space to gradually and gently reconnect to our body, our stories, and our relationships through movement & sharing.

Dance is a powerful tool to connect to ourselves and others in a meaningful way. When we dance in a space that values safety, nonjudgment, and compassion, we may experience a deeper layer of our being. In my experience, dance has led me to feel inner freedom, a strong sense of dignity, and joy. Dance has also revealed to me where there is pain in my body, in my stories, and how to hold this pain with love. This is an invitation to enter a space of feeling, where the ground and our body are our sources of support, exploration and knowledge.

For this workshop, we are welcoming the beautiful presence and talent of Ntsailli, a French-Congolese artist, who will be curating the music and sounscapes for our collective experience.

We are offering this shared space for you to experience a deeper layer of your being, with care and guidance, and the unique energy of our group.

exploring, listening to our body, movement games, and relating with others through movement

expressing, embodying our unique stories, present emotions with care

resting, allowing ourselves to rest and integrate our experience

Facilitator & Artist

Ntsailli, artist

@ntsailli

A French-Congolese artist shaped by multiple cultures, Ntsailli develops a musical universe that is both instinctive and grounded. Her work is rooted in métissage and subtly explores questions of place and belonging. A singer and bassist, she moves fluidly between neo-soul, jazz, R&B and house music, with a direct, sensitive approach to sound. Trained as a medical doctor, she has worked internationally, an experience that continues to inform her artistic practice through a deep attention to the body, listening and human dynamics.

Between personal projects and numerous collaborations, she is active on the French and international music scenes across a wide range of projects.

Mytam Mayo-Smith, facilitator

@tidal.rythms, www.mytam-mayosmith.com

Mytam is a Vietnamese & U.S. dancer, collaborator, and facilitator based in Paris. Her work cultivates shared moments where presence, sensitivity, and creativity converge, holding space for reflection on culture, perception, and connection. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies from New York University, with a minor in Social and Cultural Analysis and French, and a Master of Science in Learning Sciences from Université Paris Cité, where her research focused on collective trauma and somatic healing.

Trained in contemporary and modern jazz, her practice is rooted in improvisation—using movement as a way to explore story, emotion, and embodied expression. She is currently training as a dance–movement therapist in the Création Artistique master’s program at Université Paris Cité.

General guidelines :

  • This space values nonjudgment, compassion and deep listening between one another.
  • You can always take a break during the dance, or not participate in a suggested movement exercise. Listening to your own boundaries is important, and it's a practice.
  • There may be physical contact between participants, only if there is mutual consent in the moment.

Note: This workshop does not require movement or dance experience, but it does encourage an oppenness and curiosity to movement. Another important aspect is safety: we move from where we feel safe first and do not force ourselves into places of emotional or physical pain.
