Blossom Day and Cider Tasting with Wild West Cider

This May, venture out of the city and into the orchard...

Spend the afternoon surrounded by nature and in great company with Wild West who will be welcoming us at their home in Failand, just a stone's throw from Bristol. Wander through nature, learn about the cider making process on the land where it all begins, and try cider direct from the maker.

Wild West are family-run cider and wine producer making natural, organic, unfiltered, and unpasteurised drinks using hand-picked local fruit and wild fermentation. They champion traditional methods, minimal intervention, and sustainability, educating and entertainng guests throughout the year at their farm.

On the day...
Our adventure begins with a scenic bus ride (taxis welcome) to the farm, where Matt and Sean will give us a warm welcome and an introduction to the Wild West cider experience.

We'll stroll through blossom-filled orchards, soaking in the idyllic surroundings and learning about the full lifecycle of cider, from branch to glass. There will also be the opportunity to explore Wild West's vineyard where they make their own natural wine.

Then, it's time for a little chemistry up at the cidery, where Matt and Sean will reveal some of the secrets of their craft. See how it all comes together and get a little hands-on cider making practice.

As the afternoon unfolds, it'll be time to gather around the log burner in the cosy cider house and savour a selection of three Wild West ciders paired with locally sourced cheese. We'll be guided through the spectrum of aromas, flavours, and mouthfeels and hear the story behind each bottle. We'll even have the chance to help Matt and Sean curate tasting notes for a new cider, putting your palate to work in shaping their next release.

Then it's time for a final stroll (with a stop in the Wild West shop to pick up your favourite bottles) before we say our goodbyes and return to Bristol.
